Impressions is a textured, multi-layered work composed of structure paste, plastic, plaster, acrylic paint, spray paint, and varnish. With its contrasting palette of soft pink and stark black, the painting invites reflection on the traces we leave behind — on each other, and on the natural world.
The black forms and rough textures speak of the dangers we often choose to ignore: pollution, destruction, and the silent harm we cause to the environment. These are the shadows of our footprint, the parts we don’t always want to face. The pink, in contrast, represents the way we tend to romanticize or soften the harsh truth — the rosy lens through which we sometimes view ecological issues, choosing comfort over confrontation.
The layered composition reinforces the idea that every action leaves a mark. Impressions is a visual reminder that nothing we do is without consequence — and that awareness is the first step toward change.
